Flaccidity Syndrome

     In recent years a disabling health condition has appeared at an alarming rate. As we grow older the body naturally loses tightness or consistency. When this happens parts of the body lose their shape and malfunction results. This is very difficult to diagnose because of the body’s position when x-rays, CT scans and other means of diagnosis are used.
 
The alarming thing about this condition is that it is showing up in clients at an earlier and earlier age. We now see flaccidity symptoms in children, not on occasion, but frequently.
What exactly is this flaccidity syndrome? Imagine a balloon that has been blown up and deflated repeatedly. Each time the balloon is blown up the less it is able to hold its original shape. A prime example is after a pregnancy, when some women have difficulty coming back into their original shape.
 
What are the factors that seem to cause this action of the body? Overuse of characteristically hot, sweet foods and lack of astringent foods seem to be the determining factors. To use another illustration, imagine bubble gum stretched out on a hot day. The gum has the tendency to sag in the middle. Now imagine doing the same on a wintry day, the gum would stay straight across, no sagging. From this we can determine that heat makes things relax while cold makes things stay tighter.

 
Symptoms:
Men

Urination Issues; too frequent, dribbling, urgency
Ulcers and digestion issues
Erectile Dysfunction
Hemorrhoids
Pot Belly
Prolapsed Colon

 
 Women
 A tummy that will not go away
Abnormal periods
Bladder control issues with coughing sneezing or laughing. Dribbling
Digestive issues such as bloating and constipation changing to diarrhea
Varicose veins and spider veins
Hemorrhoids
Frequent or persistent Urinary Tract Infections
Prolapsed uterus
Prolapsed colon
Prolapsed bladder
Pain during intercourse
Sagging of the skin

 
 What can be done about Flaccidity
 
We will use another analogy to help you picture what needs to be done. We have heard that leather is tanned. This process takes animal skin and turns it into tough leather. By soaking the skin in tannin acids the tissue of the skin gets drawn tighter together until leather results.
We want to do the same action to our bodies only to a lesser degree. We don’t want to make our tissue too tight otherwise another set of problems arise. A balanced view is required.

 
Step 1
 
We cannot accomplish anything towards flaccidity unless we change our lifestyle. Ask yourself ‘Do I love my foods and drinks that contribute to flaccidity more than I would love looking and functioning better?’ The answer may seem obvious but humankind has many vices and in North America food is definitely one of them.
Some changes may be simple, for instance it may be changing from red wine (hot characteristic) to white wine. Another would be reducing spicy food. These are just a couple of examples of typical changes, but there are many more.

 
Step 2
 
 Now it may be necessary to take supplements that contain tannic acids (among other characteristics) to reverse the flaccid condition the previous diet has caused. It is a nice thought that this reversal could be accomplished with diet change only, but in our experience doing it this way can be a very long and frustrating task.
 
How To Use Herbs
 
Because of the nature of these astringent herbs, they are normally quite bitter. Therefore it is highly recommended that capsules are used. When taking these herbs and combining them with other herbs that act on specific organs, we can draw the influence of the astringent herbs to do a specific function to a specific area.
If a stronger influence is required, a full astringent formula can be used. Remember you must keep a balanced view, once the condition has improved sufficiently a combined formula can be used to maintain this state of health (unless you have made adequate dietary changes, which is rare).
 
Precautions
 
Over use of astringents can make some tissue too tight to function. This condition happens very rarely, because the North American diet in general works against astringency.
An example of this (which is more annoying rather than harmful) is what can occur if you take astringents at bed time. Your bladder will get tighter and can hold less fluid resulting in frequent trips to the bathroom. There is, however, an easy fix. By taking the capsules 2-3 hours before bed the bladder is already tighter at bedtime and you will have less of an issue.
 
Collagen
 
Collagen is another vital ingredient in the battle against flaccidity. Collagen helps put the elasticity back in the cells. Collagen will then be used in making the tissue have a tighter and springier feel, as well as smoother, more youthful appearance.
 
Detoxing
 
Of course, detoxing the body is never a mistake. Residue from our previous course of life will continue to negatively affect us until we do something about it. Detoxing will speed up the restoration process as well as give you a whole new sense of well being.
For example, I received a telephone call from a client who, since starting a detoxifying cleanse is feeling relief in his knees from pain that the doctors told him was “bone on bone”. He wanted to continue. It seems that in this case a cleanse was a cheaper, faster, and possibly more effective alternative to surgery.
 
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF CLEANSING YOUR BODY!
 
Detoxing comes in many forms. A single cleanse that claims to perform many different functions invariably shows to have too little of several ingredients and disappointment often results.  When  choosing a cleanse (detox) be sure to use specific cleanses and in the proper order and frequency.
